- What inspired you to start your own business?
- I worked in child care for over twenty years and put off many of my other interests. I decided that I needed a change and I needed to follow my own creative path and see what happens. That is what I did. I left my child care career, traveled a bit, had my son, and decided that since I was with my son all day I would try to pursue my art. I have not regretted my decision since.
- About Me:
- My name is Nicael Leistikow, I am a 38 year old stay at home mom and full time artist. I live in Northern California amongst the redwood forest which inspires me everyday. I love working in metal and leather. I have sewn since I was eight years old and I have been making jewelry since I was in highschool. During my college education I became dedicated to working in metal and was formally trained for three years in jewelry making and metalsmithing. I have now also rediscovered my love of sewing and accessories. I make copper and brass masks, sterling silver and semi-precious stone jewelry, leather wallets, collars, and cuffs, and handbags.
